Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Rochester, NY)

Stonegate Nest Manufacturing manufactures parts and assemblies at its Rochester plant. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 126 people based in Rochester. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to scrap and rework, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with scrap and rework. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Rochester, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
