Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Reno, NV)

Ironwood Fern Farms Partners is an agricultural business based around Reno. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around harvest schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Reno. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
