Senior Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Stonegate Bridge Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Oakland, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our audit preparation. We reward reliability. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loads and lanes, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with loads and lanes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Oakland. • We reply to every applicant.
