Senior Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Bright Mill Freight coordinates shipments and warehousing around Fresno. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on audit preparation. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around carrier rates against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with proof of delivery. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Fresno. • We reply to every applicant.
