Senior Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Highbridge Drift Foods is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for customer specifications, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We like people who take pride in what they make. What you will do • Track costs around production batches against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer specifications, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with customer specifications. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Madison. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
