Senior Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Westbrook Wilder Medical designs and makes medical devices in Sacramento, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our audit preparation. Documentation is part of the craft. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to device records, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around complaint handling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with device records. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Sacramento. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
