Senior Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Lumen Junction Insurance provides coverage to households and businesses around Orlando, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our audit preparation. Claims teams work together and share what they learn. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around claims against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to catastrophe response, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with catastrophe response. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Orlando. • We reply to every applicant.
