Senior Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Bright Bridge Transit Planning Group is a transit-planning firm in Kansas City working with agencies and riders. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around fare systems against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with service alerts. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Kansas City. • We reply to every applicant.
