Senior Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Greenridge Timber Markets is a Philadelphia retailer with stores, a distribution centre and online ordering. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around promotions against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to online orders, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with online orders. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Philadelphia. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
