Senior Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Cedar Union Banking Services Group provides everyday banking and small-business lending around Kansas City. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on audit preparation. We promote from within and train well. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around account openings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to deposit accounts, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Kansas City. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
