Senior Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Cedar North Insurance Group is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for customer complaints, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Claims teams work together and share what they learn. What you will do • Track costs around catastrophe response against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer complaints, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with customer complaints. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Orlando. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
