Senior Accountant - audit preparation (remote)

Bright Linden Foods produces packaged foods at its Cleveland plant, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 81 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to allergen controls, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around ingredient orders against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with allergen controls. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Cleveland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
