Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Providence, RI)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Quarry Hospitality and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. Promotion from within is common. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around food costs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with reviews and feedback. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Providence. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
