Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Providence, RI)

Silverline River Construction delivers building projects for owners across the Providence region. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on audit preparation. We build things that last and we are honest about schedules. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to project schedules, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around safety records against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with project schedules. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Providence, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
