Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Pittsburgh, PA)

Foxglove Wilder Insurance Group is an insurance company in Pittsburgh with claims and service teams, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 16 people based in Pittsburgh. What you will do • Track costs around catastrophe response against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to underwriting files, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with underwriting files. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Pittsburgh, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
