Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Omaha, NE)

Lumen Umber Foods is a Omaha food manufacturer supplying grocers and food-service customers. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on audit preparation. Food safety is non-negotiable and we train for it. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production batches, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with production batches. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Omaha. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
