Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Oakland, CA)

Highbridge Meridian Care Services supports families and individuals in Oakland with personal care and coordination, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our audit preparation. The work is personal and so is the culture. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to visit scheduling, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around licensing against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with visit scheduling. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Oakland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
