Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Oakland, CA)

Bright Linden Environmental Services Group is an environmental-services company in Oakland with routes, transfer stations and recycling, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with landfill records. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Oakland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
