Senior Accountant - audit preparation (New Orleans, LA)

Redstone Glen Inspection Services tests and certifies buildings, pipelines and equipment around New Orleans, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around client sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to scheduling, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in New Orleans. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
