Senior Accountant - audit preparation (New Orleans, LA)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Oak Farms and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. Weather sets the schedule, and we plan around it. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around field records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with cold storage. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in New Orleans, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
