Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Milwaukee, WI)

Redstone Water Authority is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for treatment plant data, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 29 people based in Milwaukee. What you will do • Track costs around billing accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to treatment plant data, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with treatment plant data.
