Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Miami, FL)

Ironwood Fern Farms is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for cold storage, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Seasons are busy and the rest of the year is for planning. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cold storage, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around packing house output against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Miami. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
