Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Memphis, TN)

Greenridge Haven Learning Group is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for school calendars, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 268 people based in Memphis. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to school calendars, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with school calendars. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Memphis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
