Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Kansas City, MO)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Willow Pharma and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around clinical studies against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to regulatory filings, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with regulatory filings. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Kansas City, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
