Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Kansas City, MO)

Harborlight Facilities looks after properties across the Kansas City region. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Kansas City. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer sites, and clear open items. • Track costs around supply orders against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with customer sites. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
