Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Jackson, MS)

Greenridge Foods Group is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for cold storage, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Shifts are steady and overtime is planned. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around customer specifications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cold storage, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Jackson. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
