Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Jackson, MS)

We are growing our team at Silverline Linden Foods and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 94 people based in Jackson. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around ingredient orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer specifications, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with customer specifications. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
