Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Jackson, MS)

Fernwood Timber Pharma is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for regulatory filings, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Jackson. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to regulatory filings, and clear open items. • Track costs around cleanroom operations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
