Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Jackson, MS)

Amberfield Summit Construction builds commercial and industrial projects around Jackson, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around subcontractor invoices against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to permits, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with permits. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Jackson. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
