Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Indianapolis, IN)

Ironwood Ember Staffing places workers with employers around Indianapolis. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of about 771 people based in Indianapolis. What you will do • Track costs around timekeeping against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to retention, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with retention. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Indianapolis. • We reply to every applicant.
