Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Hartford, CT)

Foxglove Lantern Auto Group is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for vehicle inspections, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Hartford. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to vehicle inspections, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with vehicle inspections. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Hartford. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
