Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Detroit, MI)

Clearpath Harbor Farms Group grows and distributes produce from farms near Detroit. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on audit preparation. Seasons are busy and the rest of the year is for planning. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to seasonal crews, and clear open items. • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Detroit. • We reply to every applicant.
