Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Denver, CO)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Ridge Early Learning Group and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of about 219 people based in Denver. What you will do • Track costs around family communication against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with licensing records. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Denver. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
