Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Columbus, OH)

We are growing our team at Northwind West Freight Group and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be audit preparation. We reward reliability. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around customer tracking against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with dock schedules. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Columbus. • We reply to every applicant.
