Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Austin, TX)

Summit Meridian Foods Group is a Austin food manufacturer supplying grocers and food-service customers, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 35 people based in Austin. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to allergen controls, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around ingredient orders against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with allergen controls. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Austin, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
