Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Austin, TX)

Amberfield North Learning Group operates schools and learning programmes around Austin. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to enrolment, and clear open items. • Track costs around school calendars against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with enrolment. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Austin. • We reply to every applicant.
