Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Anchorage, AK)

Fernwood Linden Health is a healthcare provider in Anchorage with clinics and support teams, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of about 615 people based in Anchorage. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around insurance authorisations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with clinic supplies. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Anchorage. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
