Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Anchorage, AK)

Rivermark Pike Auto Group is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for vehicle inspections, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 686 people based in Anchorage. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to vehicle inspections, and clear open items. • Track costs around service appointments against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with vehicle inspections. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
