Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Albuquerque, NM)

Fernwood Basin Legal Group provides legal services in Albuquerque across employment, housing and small-business law, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our audit preparation. Confidentiality and accuracy are taken very seriously. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around intake forms against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client files, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with client files. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Albuquerque, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
