Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Tucson, AZ)

Ironwood Fox Learning Group operates schools and learning programmes around Tucson. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 169 people based in Tucson. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to learning materials, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around family communication against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Tucson. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
