Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Tucson, AZ)

Bright Bridge Transit Planning plans bus and rail service for cities around Tucson. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. Work is collaborative and map-heavy. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service alerts, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around route schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with service alerts. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Tucson. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
