Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Seattle, WA)

Summit Stone Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Seattle. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 818 people based in Seattle. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around proof of delivery against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Seattle. • We reply to every applicant.
