Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Seattle, WA)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Sable Markets and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 123 people based in Seattle. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to store inventory, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with store inventory. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Seattle. • We reply to every applicant.
