Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Seattle, WA)

Stonegate Vale Housing is a nonprofit housing provider in Seattle. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 62 people based in Seattle. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to waiting lists, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around rent assistance against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with waiting lists. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Seattle. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
