Senior Accountant - accounts payable (San Diego, CA)

Westbrook Ember Financial is a financial-services company in San Diego. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on accounts payable. Trust is the product, so accuracy and clarity matter. What you will do • Track costs around account servicing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer onboarding, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with customer onboarding. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in San Diego. • We reply to every applicant.
