Senior Accountant - accounts payable (San Antonio, TX)

Northwind Rook Housing is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for waiting lists, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 850 people based in San Antonio. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around rent assistance against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with waiting lists.
