Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Salt Lake City, UT)

Amberfield Granite Water Authority is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for meter reading, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Our work is invisible when it goes well, and we are proud of that. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meter reading, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with meter reading. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Salt Lake City, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
