Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Rochester, NY)

Stonegate Keystone Transit Planning Group is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for fare systems, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fare systems, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around survey data against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Rochester. • We reply to every applicant.
