Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Rochester, NY)

Greenridge Quarry Banking Services is a regional lender in Rochester with branches and a growing mobile service, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our accounts payable. We keep decisions close to customers and expect people to explain things plainly. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to deposit accounts, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with deposit accounts. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
