Senior Accountant - accounts payable (Richmond, VA)

We are growing our team at Northwind Sable Auto Group and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. Technicians are respected and trained. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer estimates, and clear open items. • Track costs around warranty claims against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with customer estimates. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Richmond. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
